Do I really need to have my resume professionally written?
If your goal is to get a professional job you do. Don’t laugh. There is a huge difference between the skills and successes you think make a great hire and what the hiring manager is interested in seeing on your resume. Unfortunately, they are not always the same. Certain key words, how to present your transferable skills in a positive format and highlighting your successes that stand out when they are being read from a bad faxed copy at 11:30 P.M. are just a few of the reasons to have that resume professionally written. If you can’t hook the reader within the first 30 seconds (and that’s a long time in today’s ADHD world) you get round filed. It behooves the “job hunter” to obtain the proper bait, which will garner the biggest prize.

How many resumes have you written?
SDN CONSULTING has been in business since 2004. During that time, more than 300 resumes have been written for highly satisfied clients. The success rate of these clients receiving calls from companies in the industry they want to work using their new improved resume is a whopping 98%. Imagine having a tool that can get you noticed over the other 500 resumes that are submitted. Getting that first phone call in response to your resume is just the beginning to obtaining a new job. I wonder how many responses you have received from your current resume? Or more importantly, are they the type of job opportunity you really want?

What does the resume process entail?
Step one – identify the industry you are seeking employment. It is essential to have your resume reflect that industry standard. Don’t count on your future employer to decode industry success standards in an area they are not familiar. That is too much work for them to exert. It is your job (or the resume writer’s) to get your resume up to industry standard.

Step two – submit your current resume. Don’t have a current resume? We have a simple yet focused questionnaire which should jog your memory from jobs gone by and help fill-in the blanks and gaps to make your resume stand out among the competition.

Step three – your choice of a phone call or email to clarify information and fill in any gaps.

Step four – once we have all the information necessary to create your resume it’s sent to you for review and final revision.

Your resume can be finalized and emailed to you in word document within 48 hours.

I’m great at my job. Why would I need interview skills?
Being successful in your job does not guarantee that you are successful at interviewing. The truth is, no one wants to become an expert at interviewing. The other truth is that the best person for the job doesn’t always get hired. I’m certain you question how some of your co-workers get out of bed in the morning, much less do their job at the level you perform. However, they got hired. Someone, probably your boss, thought they were perfect for the job because they knew how to interview. You can too.

Think back to when you started your current job. How long did it take you before you were at the top of your game? It probably took you more than three months to become the success you are right now. You practiced, you studied, you asked questions, you failed and then you succeeded. This is called a learning curve. The plethora of job opportunities and number of candidates contacted to interview has decreased over the past 5 years. How confident are you to fly without that safety net? Why jeopardize the perfect job opportunity without being totally prepared for any question or situation that can come your way? And, the best part is projecting the image of success and obtaining the reward of negotiating for a higher salary. Isn’t that one of the reasons you are looking for a different job?
